Inserm – Technion: A new International Associate Laboratory on the trail of an electronic nose to smell pulmonary hypertension

Pr. Syrota, Inserm CEO and Prof Peretz Lavie, Technion President, are going to sign a new agreement for the creation of a new International Associate Laboratory, the December 17th 2013. This project will get together with Inserm Unit 999 “Pulmonary Hypertension” and the Department of Chemical Engineering and Russell Berrie Nanotechnology Institute, headed by Pr. Hossam Haick.

This device should permit to make a difference between olfactory signatures that are specifics of certain diseases thanks to a breath analysis. This Franco-Israeli partnership will be focus on patient who presents some to risk to develop a pulmonary hypertension.

André Syrota is pleased about this new collaboration: “ This new International Associate Laboratory is a beautiful scientific cooperation example based on the excellence and the complementarity that both of research teams have”. Prof Peretz Lavie, Technion President, is delighted with the organisation of this new laboratory that are a new step for the collaboration between the Technion and one of the most prestigious institution in France.
